Project:What will you do? Where will you work/volunteer? With whom?
I am intending to create a large mural based on teenagers voicing their problems and feelings. I will be able to work both in school and at home to finish the actual mural with help from Mr. Mark Kobasz and my mother in guidance. I will be handing out prompts throughout most of the homerooms (see Media on sidebar) to receive responses.
Project Outcomes/Goals:What will result from your "work", describe how you will use the product in order to demonstrate your topic and experience.
I'm hoping to gain two things from my work: an understanding of my peers and the ability to practice the mixed media technique I'll be using for my project. I believe my project will reflect my research portion in gaining the ability to reflect my topic of teenage depression through the painting.Project Completion Strategies: How will you go about completing your project? Describe your plan for implementing and completing your project.I am choosing to follow path two for my project which requires at least thirty hours of work. I will be working both in school and at home in creating the actual mural and receiving help from Mark Kobasz while in school. As I obtain responses to my prompt asking for one or two sentences about what they (the students) are bottling up, anonymously, I’ll be able to tie in a theme about teenage depression to my mural. Because I have a study hall D block every other day, I’ll be working in the art room to complete my project, giving me around two to three hours of work every week in school. On day two, I’ll be taking the actual dried product home to work on some more. I’m hoping to complete about five hours of work on the mural every week. Project Resources and Materials: What will you need to complete your project? Describe materials, resources, people, hours, etc.The mural is going to be mixed media incorporating products such as gesso, Venetian plaster, and acrylic paint in the background and acrylic paint, pastels, wax, and charcoal in the foreground. I’m estimating this will take around 40-50 hours to complete, which shouldn’t be too complicated to do with this schedule I worked out. “I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination.
